The Natty team were back in action at QEM wood last Saturday morning and their focus was on general tidy-up. The entrance path has been neatly mowed, whilst inside the gates, the banks have been weeded, revealing healthy new growth on the young trees planted last spring.

One of NAT's trustees built a new three-bay compost bin from pallets and these were installed on site, where they are already in use, with vegetation cleared on this session.

Ivy is a wonderful resource for wildlife, providing food and habitat, however, it requires some management particularly around elderly trees. The team carried out such management with cutting back ivy where it was overwhelming its host tree.

If you would like to join our Natty team and have the time to give one Saturday morning a month helping with various activities such as mentioned above, do contact us.
